Kraft paper is brown paper bag paper. It would seem to be relatively useless in paper crafts, but it has a good body and interesting texture. It is not acid-free and is therefore subject to deterioration with time.
But, paper bags can become some interesting things. For some ideas, look up a book titled “What Can You Do With A Paper Bag” by Judith Cressey and published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2001. There is also an electronic version of “The Bag Hatter,” and an article from Arts & Activities on-line.
Lunch size brown paper bags can be used to produce hats for dolls, teddy bears and other stuffed animals. Undoubtedly the thinner paper of smaller paper bags makes this an easier craft paper to use.
And, of course, Kraft paper makes a good table cover to protect you table from glue and paints and other craft components.
