I am a candy hound. Always have been, always will be. And occasionally I run across a candy with a beautiful wrapper or one with nice color and texture. One that should be saved and reused to make something else beautiful. So I save it, or them: quite often this a bag or box of individually wrapped candies, so I have many of the wrapper, and sometimes in various colors.

After carefully removing any residue from the contents, the wrapper is ready for a paper project. If it is shiny or sparkly, strips from the wrapper can be glued to a sturdy tree ornament or Easter egg. Larger pieces can be decoupaged to a wooden box in a random pattern. This would be especially interesting if you have wrappers with several colors and textures.

Cut the wrappers into strips and make that Christmas tree chain we all used to make from red and green construction paper. The links would be smaller, but the chain would be much prettier. You can add to it as you save more candy wrappers. (And it becomes a record of your consumption. Drat!) Fold the paper strips in half  length-wise and spot glue before you glue the ends together for the link, and the chain will be pretty inside and out.

Remember, save any paper with an interesting color, shine or texture. Sometime, you are going to have a chance to use it as a crafts supplies paper.
